Characterization and Machinability Studies of Aluminium-based Hybrid Metal Matrix Composites – A Critical Review

نویسندگان

چکیده

Metal matrix composites (MMCs) are attracting automobile and aeronautical sector because of their superior mechanical physical characteristics which ultimately reduce the weight components hence energy requirements. These prepared by adding various reinforcements into base metal methods like stir casting, squeeze sand in-setu method, powder metallurgy etc. When more than one particle is added metal; these called as Hybrid Matrix Composites (HMMCs). The machinability hard to cut materials a challenging task in front manufacturing industry. Present study considers turning operation HMMC done on either lathe or CNC machine using different cutting tool materials. This review focuses effect parameters speed, depth cut, feed also reinforcement type, size percentage issues surface roughness, MRR, forces, wear Further optimization used suggest obtain minimum maximum Material Removal Rate (MRR) addressed.
